Piedmont Post

So after a long time of trying to get ahold of the Piedmont Post I finally got a job. The Piedmont Post is Piedmont's hometown newspaper. Its been in print for over 10 years I believe. It covers everything from sport games to major events and parties that take place in Piedmont. My first job was to cover the girls lacrosse game. All of the sports are coming to an end at this time of year but some sports are still in session so i am able to cover a few.

Some of the upcoming events and sports I am covering are tennis, track, and senior prom. I am sort of nervous for the prom cause I have to use a speed light which I have practically any experience with. But we'll see how it goes.

Here are the exact same shots that were in the paper. The cropped them a little but these are the full shot.

Of course these are the best shots, because they put them in the paper.

These were not in the paper but they are still rather good. I love the fast frame shooting! You can get every single movement, so awesome!

A few things I can work on looking at these shots are getting more of the ground rather than the sky, but I was trying to make sure and get the whole lacrosse stick. Also keeping the camera level with the track and the surface that was around the players, I didn't realize how far off it was until one of the main photographers of the Post pointed it out.

I'll have more up soon of all the jobs that I'm doing and more D.C. pictures are on the way! Comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated! Everything helps!

Crab and Street Performers

Here's a small post on some shots I got over in San Francisco the other day. It was late in the afternoon so there was really good sunlight. All of the shots were taken on Fisherman's Wharf. The first ones are of Crab Pots that were sitting on the dock next to all of the fishing boats.

These ones are of a guy playing the Sax right next to Pier 39. He was singing and playing. But these are my favorite because you can see his expressions while he was singing. Also the last one he is looking into the Sun, which is inspiring.

That's all for this post. More will be coming soon! Comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated!
